Stamped Concrete Create Color Details

Stone-Shades Acrylic concrete stain is a specially formulated blend of solvents, acrylics and proprietary ingredients, Stones-Shade is designed for adding authentic color detail to stamped, textured and acid stained concrete surfaces.

Available in 21 colors, Stone-Shade is applied to several individual slates, bricks or stones in a stamped concrete or a horizontal or vertical stamped concrete overlay project to set them apart from normally colored areas creating the natural effects of real masonry surfaces.

Stone-Shade can be used to refurbish old stamped concrete surfaces and can also be used after neutralizing acid stained concrete surfaces to alter the final color before sealing.

This image is a concrete resurfacing project in Knoxville Tn. This was our first decorative concrete overlay in 2005 after certification by Specialty Concrete Products as a Decorative Concrete Contractor.

This look was accomplished using SCP's Stencil-Crete concrete overlay system.

• Step # 1 was a colored grout coat with Terra Cotta to establish a color for the grout lines
• Step # 2 Apply a Terra Cotta trowel coat over an Ashler Slate reusable plastic stencil pattern
• Step # 3 Apply a liquid release agent and texture with a stone texture mat
• Step # 4 Apply Stone-Shades Terra Cotta color randomly to individual slates.
• Step # 5 Apply Stone-Shades Charcoal color acrylic concrete stain randomly to individual slates.
• Step # 6 Apply 2 applications Chrome-Seal acrylic concrete sealer

Notice how this color technique with Stone-Shade highlights the Terra Cotta with natural color dispersions that give the authentic natural effects of real masonry stone products.

Stone-Shade applied in multiple colors, was used to renovate this old, worn stamped concrete surface and add additional color details to individual stones before two applications of SCP,s Chrome-Seal concrete floor sealer was applied.
